Here in Kids Life, we have adapted the Orange Strategy for our kids and families.  The Orange strategy easily allows families to incorporate what the children are learning on Sunday mornings, into the home.  Each age group has different resources available geared toward their child’s learning.  As a church, we understand that we only get to see the children for about 1 1/2 hrs a week, therefore, most of their Christian education will take place in the home.  We want to be a ministry that can support kids and families as the kids are learning biblical truths.

We encourage all parents to visit www.orangeparents.org.  This website has an abundance of information that is so useful, and current, for today’s kids and families.  There are monthly podcasts ready for you to listen to, as well a blogs.

FIRST LOOK

Children 2yrs-5yrs

The Orange Curriculum for First Look is based on 3 basic truths:

1. God loves me
2. God made me
3. Jesus wants to be my forever friend

Every month there is a new theme where at least one of the basic truths is woven throughout the lesson plan.  A child this age will get to experience worship, activities, bible story and games.  We also have one bible verse for each month that incorporates hand motions so the children can remember it easier.  Children will also have goldfish and water for snack during this time.

Parents: Make sure to pick up our “Parent Que” take home sheet where
you’ll find information such as what your kids are learning during each series,
suggested activities and discussion topics for the home to reinforce the lessons they are learning.  Attached to each “Parent Que” is the bible verse for the month.

We take our job on Sunday mornings very seriously. We realize that we are not just
taking care of kids while their parents are in the worship service; we’re helping to
build the framework of a lifelong faith.

252 BASICS

Children 5yrs – 5th grade:

The Orange Curriculum for 252 Basics is based three basic truths that every child should embrace, according to what Jesus wrote in Luke 2:52 – “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.”

1. I need to make the wise choice
2. I can trust God no matter what
3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated

Every month there is a new theme.  Each basic truth is amplified by a weekly Bible story and bottom line, and a monthly virtue and memory verse. Most importantly, we learn how to make God’s Word a part of our everyday lives.

Each week we also provide devotionals for your child to have “God Time.”  Each devotional is structured to include:

1. A verse to read
2. A devotion paragraph that teaches something about God and explanation of today’s verse
3. An activity that makes real-life application of the day’s devotion
4. A suggested prayer
