All of our leaders and volunteers have had background checks, reference checks, and have been trained before they are able to work with our students.  They are a group committed to learning and growing closer to God as well as sharing life with teenagers.

MYTHS ABOUT SERVING WITH YOUTH:

You need to be an expert.
We want all of our leaders to have a heart to love God and to love students. You don’t need a degree in teenagers, or expert in crazy emotional mood swings, or Christian education to be a great leader. We will equip and train you for ministry.

You will be alone.
You will be surrounded and supported by our loving staff and volunteer team who are here for you. We strive to have a team mentality in everything we do, allowing people to serve using their gifts together. We strive for a family culture with both the students and leaders.

You need to have all the time in the world.
We ask that you be faithful and committed to your area of service. If you have one hour per week or month – that is great! If you have more – that is great also! You are not expected to be at every youth event, but to serve faithfully in the area(s) you commit to.

Other Misconceptions:
You must be young
You must be the perfect example of a Christian
You must be a captivating communicator
You must be able to act like a kid
You must be able to play guitar
You must be wild and crazy
You must know the 10 most popular songs on the radio
You must be liked by all kids

We want people who first and foremost love God and want to serve him by using their God given abilities to minister and impact the lives of students.
